The Little House in The Pass and Ginderbread Cottage are in the Village of Bellevue which is one of the five small communities
that make up the Crowsnest Pass municipality. The other communities are Hillcrest, Frank, Coleman and Blairmore which is the largest
of the five villages and is where you'll find well-stocked grocery stores, restaurants and other amentities.
The Crowsnest Pass area
is one of Alberta's the few mountain areas that still retains much of it's natural charm and historic connections. It is quickly
becoming one of Alberta's major tourist attractions thanks to the magnificent mountain scenery, vast variety of winter and summer
outdoor adventure opportunities, and proximity to other intriguing historic sites and natural wonders. Crowsnest Pass boasts
it's own Pass Powder Keg Ski Hill in Blairmore and is only 45 minutes from world class downhill skiing and snowboarding at Fernie
Alpine Resort, and Castle Mountain Resort. Other winter sport activities include snowmobiling on a 1,500 kilometre network of trails,
cross-country skiing on well-maintained paths, trophy ice fishing, and big game hunting. Summer sporting opportunities include
world class flyfishing and angling, hiking, rock climbing, caving, mountain biking, golfing, and bird watching. Other exciting
adventures include touring the historic Bellevue Coal Mines, exploring the local shops, and enjoying a satisfying meal in
one of the many interesting cafes and dining establishments thoughout the Pass. Antique collectors can also look forward
to antique hunting in and around Crowsnest Pass as well at the numerous shops in the Town of Nanton approximately 1 1/2 hours north
of Crowsnest Pass. Nearby not-to-be-missed attractions include the historically and geologically fascinating Frank Slide Interpretive
Centre, the internationally famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites at Waterton National Park and Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump west
of Fort Macleod, the historic Royal Canadian Mounted Police settlement in Fort Macleod. Bellevue is located 2 hours south of the City of Calgary (Pop. 1,100,000), 15 minutes east of the Alberta/British Columbia border, 1 1/2 hours west of theCity of Lethbridge (pop.
75,000), and 45 minutes north of the United States border in Montana.
